Caribana, international carnival celebrated it's 37th anniversary year, 2004. The
highlight of this
nineteen-day event, the carnival parade (Parade of the Bands) happened on July 31st. Starting at
Exhibition center with a review of the bands, then treaded it's way along Lake Shore Boulevard.
Though the overcast skies seem to indicate some rain in the near future, the sun soon came out
for a very good
parade day.
For most this Parade is the thing. But the preview of
this event, the King and Queen competition,
which occurred on July the 29th placed these grand ornaments in a different light. Seeing these
creative efforts in the day light does not do justice to the enhanced pleasure one experiences in
the controlled lighting environment of Lamport Stadium. The difference is night and day.
Welcome again to the West Indian pride infusion Web Page The melting pot: 'Caribbean focus'
...well one of many. At the risk of offending somebody I'll call Caribana the West Indian Mecca;
you have to go there at least once in your life time. Trinidad is alright too. Ha, haaa. Don't hurt
me Trini', please!
